2nd Annual Wounded Warrior Weekend
BMAC WOUNDED WARRIOR CELEBRITY GOLF TOURNAMENT,
BASH & SILENT AUCTION
An event of Wounded Warrior Week
9 thru 11 SEP 2011

For the second consecutive year, BMAC hosted KY Wounded Warriors and family members to events in Lexington to recognize and honor them for their military service and sacrifices made on behalf of the nation. Members of BMAC and their guests enjoyed opportunities on FRI 09 SEP at the BMAC BASH & Silent Auction and again on SUN 11 SEP at the BMAC Wounded Warrior Celebrity Golf Tournament to socialize with KY Wounded Warriors to learn about their experiences in Afghanistan, Iraq and other military duty stations. The warriors said they really enjoyed being able to talk to Veterans of other eras about their military experiences. They appreciated the sincere expressions of appreciation for their military service from everyone who attended the events. One KY Wounded Warrior commented that it is humbling to have Vietnam War Veterans welcoming them home in this manner, because he and other OEF/OIF Veterans know how poorly their predecessors were treated when they came home. One of our KY Wounded Warriors is now a VA certified advocate for Wounded Warriors and helps those returning home to get through the processes of healing by relating personal experiences and providing encouraging coaching.

This special weekend would not be possible without the generous financial support of sponsors, gifts and silent auction items from businesses and individual volunteer time and efforts by BMAC members. We thank the many individuals and businesses who enjoy supporting KY Wounded Warriors and their families. When you are planning your business and individual budgets for 2012, please consider adding BMAC to your list of worthy causes.  We are told repeatedly that "Our company gives exclusively to health and human services causes."  Providing financial support to KY Wounded Warriors and their families is contributing to "health and human services," and it will be so for the lifetimes of our beneficiaries, so please help decision makers to understand about this important non-profit and non-governmental effort being made through BMAC. BMAC members and volunteers will be soliciting for donations and working through fundraising efforts and events throughout the year for years to come in order to provide financial grants for KY Wounded Warriors. Every contribution counts, regardless the amount because it all adds up to making good things happen for men and women who volunteered to go to war on behalf of this nation, were wounded-for-life and will need continuous support of fellow citizens.

Planning has already begun for the BMAC 3rd Annual Wounded Warrior Weekend. If you would like to volunteer and become involved on an action team, contact HQ BMAC.

If you played in the golf event and would like to guarantee a place in the 2012 event, reserve your team, now.  Please tell other golfers and ask them to put this annual golf event on their calendar for 2012 and let us know they wish to play.

BMAC is still accepting financial donations to help fund grants to KY Wounded Warriors, either by credit card or by check made to BMAC and mailed to 128 E. Reynolds Road #201, Lexington KY 40517.  If your employer participates in a payroll deduction plan for charitable giving, please request that BMAC KY Wounded Warriors be added as an option.  BMAC is a 501c3 non-profit educational organization, identified by IRS #EIN77-059527.
